If you couldn’t tell from my previous post on palm prints, fun prints are everywhere, and on everything right now. But possibly my favorite print for summer is gingham! It’s like wearing a summer picnic, what more could you want? One thing I love about gingham is that it is showing up in lots of different colors, from traditional red, navy, and black, to pale blues and pinks. You can find it on skirts, rompers, and even swimsuits, which is perfect for your summer beach trip. I love the idea of making gingham more feminine by pairing it with heels and soft curls. This is one of my favorite outfits incorporating gingham (but who am I kidding, I like gingham in all forms!):
This is the perfect lady-like look, for a bridal brunch or afternoon tea (for my friends over in England.)
And of course, I just had to take pictures in my mom’s rose bushes because they made the perfect backdrop to the pale blue gingham.
I paired the softer gingham with a matching blue bag because I didn’t want to distract from the print on the skirt
Confession: I couldn’t find a top I liked to go with this skirt so I opted for a dress that I already had in my closet. It was fitted enough to wear under the skirt with ease, and I loved the way the soft lace looked with the gingham.
One of my favorite trends in shoes right now are bow slides. These mules are comfortable and easy to wear all day, and they add just the right amount of sweet without going over the top.
A closer look at these shoes, because they are so versatile, and would look great even contrasted against a distressed pair of jeans.
So there you have it. Why you just might see me in gingham every day this summer!
